My Bargain Bin has opened a store inside the Amish farmer's market in Middletown, DE, in which it tests sales and pricing of every product it wholesales on its website. The store, located at 701 North Broad Street, is open from nine to five on Thursdays, nine to seven on Fridays and nine to four on Saturdays.

"In addition to consumers, wholesale customers can buy from us at the store, and we ship product the next day," says Sandy Spector, who with her husband, Mike, is the owner of the company that supplies a wide range of product. "We carry a selection of all the products on our website," she says, "and we put in something new every week."

"The shop gives us the opportunity to test the sales of our products, and we use it as a testing ground for price points," she adds. "This ensures that we have products that are in demand and that our wholesale customers can make money on, even if they buy only small amounts."

"If we can't obtain at least double the wholesale price from something we sell in the shop, then we won't offer it wholesale to a retailer customer," Spector explains. "We also try out different display ideas for retailing," she adds, "so we can determine the best ways to grab customers' attention, since many of our products rely on impulse appeal."

Costume jewelry is the company's mainstay, and it is a best seller in the shop, according to Spector. "Bibles are also among our best sellers now," she says. The company sells light up items, novelties, books, toys, wallets, purses, figurines, scrapbook supplies and Bible covers. The mix is constantly being refreshed with new products.
