Ken Cleveland, the owner of KC Creations, is always looking for new products ? and new ways to sell his existing lines. For example, his door and window toppers are fun products in their own right. They consist of pet figurines that sit on the molding of a door or window. However, not all doors and windows have molding, especially in newer houses. So Cleveland came up with a way for all his customers to enjoy the product.
"People like the figurines, but they may not want to put them over their doors," says Cleveland. So he came up with a welcome sign that fit perfectly with his door toppers. "The buyer can take any door topper and attach it to any sign or key ring holder or leash holder," he explains. The new product adds a door topper figurines to a welcome sign or a plaque with a dowel that can serve as a hanging peg, for example, for a key ring.
The potential upside for flea market and swap meet vendors is high. "This makes a good gift item," says Cleveland. "Everybody loves their dog. This is a way for owners to show off their love for their pets. This will appeal to pet lovers."
The wholesale price is $16, and suggested retail is $32. There is no minimum order.
