Welcome to September, the time when the hunt for the hottest holiday electronics gifts starts to rev up. It is a time when retailers begin stocking up on what consumers will later be homing in on, while bargain hunting to maximize their precious dollars.
White hot electronics crazes, such as the iPhone and Nintendo Wii, are only where this products niche begins. There are also awesome items that constitute growing Small Electronics, E-Games and Accessories subcategories. Where can you find the best products in those subcategories? Look no further than WholesaleCentral.com, where companies such as Tooks International, Touch & Talk Software, OnTouch and Buyoverstock.net and others, offer the best products and deals available. What will be the hot product trends for this niche this holiday season?
"I see the iPod wave continuing," said Sammy Hejazi, Director of Marketing and Sales, Tooks International, Denver, CO. "A lot of the less expensive versions continue to emerge and seem to be doing well with retailers. This creates synergy with our product line because we serve a lot of the kiosks and retailers who sell iPod accessories."
Beanies Feature Headphones
One would be hard-pressed to find a product line that goes with iPods (and iPods accessories) as well as Hejazi's Tooks Classic beanie stocking hats. The beanie stocking hat style has generally been a major merchandising hit with adolescents and young adults in recent years. However, what separates Tooks' take on the style from the competition's is its built-in removable headphones. Wearers of the hat can listen to music during an array of activities, including biking, hiking, jogging, rollerblading, skiing and handball. The Tooks Classics are made from 100 percent bulk acrylic beanie and offered in black, gray, navy blue, brown, red and pink. They cost $12.50 per wholesale unit at www.tookshats.com. "We pride ourselves on exceptional vendor and customer support," Hejazi explained. "We provide personalized and responsive customer care. Because of the universal nature and appeal of the product, Tooks Classics sell to a variety of retailers across different industries and are also popular with promotional companies."
A barrage of positive customer feedback resulted in the development of a variety of Tooks Classic spin-offs, which include a headband version, called the Sportec ($12.50 per wholesale unit), as well as items premiering this Fall for $14.50 per wholesale unit, such as the Sportec Beanie, the Vizor Urban Beanie and the Flapjac Earflap Beanie. Illuminating photos for each product that can be seen at www.tookshats.com.
"All of these product lines can complement the iPod accessories on the market," Hejazi said. "They attract a lot of different kinds of consumers who are looking for gifts."
MP3 Players
Another noteworthy wholesaler who offers a solid promise on quality is Discount Electronics Mart. The Forest Park, GA, firm sells a fantastic assortment of products at www.buyoverstock.net that fit the Small Electronics, E-Games and Accessories niche.
"We offer brand new MP3 and MP4 players that are great gifts for school-aged children," said Eric Tucker, Owner, Discount Electronics Mart. "Any kid would love one. We have over 18 different brands with song space capacities ranging from 512 megabytes up to 4 gigabytes."
Specifically, Tucker offers the Nano 2nd Generation and Nano 3rd Generation versions of the MP3 and MP4 players. They range in wholesale price from $32 to $72, depending on the variation of the model. The company's E-Gaming items at www.buyoverstock.net will also definitely be hot for holiday season shoppers. "We have more than 25 different games; from Wii to Sega Genesis 2," Tucker explained. "We are stocked now, so buyers will not have to wait."
Additionally, the company offers various pallets filled with small electronics and accessories for low prices. One of its hottest camera products is the PowerShot A590 IS, which features a 4X optical zoom, 8.0 mega pixels and an optical image stabilizer, among other features. Accessories for the PowerShot include telephoto converter lenses, wrist straps, CD-ROM interface cables, AV cables, etc.
Tucker said that his firm takes pride in getting orders out of the warehouse quickly. "Our product should be at your door within seven business days. Our customers are mainly small electronics stores and electronics wholesalers." The company also distributes DVD players, CD players, stereo systems, home theater systems, boom boxes, telephones, portable DVD players and various kinds of televisions. Tucker said that his items are high quality, as is the customer care at www.buyoverstock.net. "Our service is the best," Tucker explained. "We treat our customers like family. If you reach out to us, we will let you know what our hottest products have been and are going to be."
Touch And Talk Software
As Tucker suggested, it is always useful to know what a seller's past sales and forecast sheets can tell a buyer. Sometimes the data highlights one extremely popular product.
"Our best selling item is, by far, the H2 Power Core Software Suite that gives home users the ability to make either their own hydrogen gas generator, E85 or higher ethanol fuel, biodiesel or home heating oil," said John Harding, President, Touch & Talk Software International, Glidden, WI. "The suite has sold all over the world and allows people to become fuel independent. It costs $12 per CD copy." Harding said that buyers of the H2 Power Core Software Suite include auto parts outlets, home improvement retailers, hardware stores, gas stations and corner shops. Visitors to www.touchntalk.com can find the software by clicking on the product branded link at the top navigation bar.
At the same time, a new item for Harding is the Touch & Talk Speech Communication and Therapy 4.0 Software Suite. It helps people suffering from stroke, autism, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, accident trauma or other speech related disabilities. The user selects words to build sentences or predefined sentences, then the software verbalizes the sentences to family members and caregivers through the computer's speakers. The software, which wholesales for $24 per CD, includes speech-enabled Web chat and Instant Messenger (IM), in order to facilitate communication to others on the Internet. Future releases will involve multiple language speech narration.
Interested parties can listen to downloads of the program at www.touchntalk.com. The 'virtual sound room' is open 24/7. Harding noted that buyers of the Touch & Talk Speech Communication and Therapy 4.0 Software Suite normally include specialty outlets, pharmacies, convenience stores and discount stores. "We offer prompt and courteous customer service, and our truly unique software titles have no competition in the marketplace," said Harding. "We assemble all orders in-house and provide on-time delivery for orders of all sizes."
One Stop Shop for CD & DVD Accessories
Meanwhile, OnTouch offers an intriguing array of accessories for CDs, DVDs and ZIP storage items. The Rancho Cucamonga, CA, wholesaler imports many of the products from Hong Kong for exceptional prices. "Our best selling items are CD holders and boxes," said Dickson Tam, President, OnTouch, Inc. "The same kinds of items for DVD accessories are also very hot. They range in wholesale price from $10 to $16."
Visitors to www.onetouchcd.com will also find a plethora of other kinds of accessories, such as towers, racks, boxes and wallets. Each product is of superior quality and unique design.
"We sell to a wide range of buyers, such as online retailers, eBay entrepreneurs, flea marketers, small mom-and-pop shops, student-oriented stores, discount outlets and specialty container stores," Tam explained. "Lately, our CD wallets have been emerging as a top seller. We expect that trend to continue. The wallet is a CD holder that the end user can carry around. You often see them for sale at chains like Staples and Wal-Mart."
The company's Los Angeles facility serves as the hub to provide top-notch service to OnTouch customers. More importantly, all of the company's products come with a one-year satisfaction guarantee. Tam said, "Our service is very hands-on. Our staff does a great job helping customers who call us on the phone and we answer emails as quickly as we possibly can."
