It has no batteries, no cord and calls for no external source of power. Simply press the bottom of the box and the contents heat and are ready to eat in 10 minutes. The box even includes a fork, spoon and napkin.
Initially, five different meals are available: paella, ravioli, tortellini, salmon and tuna. The line will soon be expanded to a choice of 12 different options. The new choices include macaroni and cheese, pork and beans, and a range of hot, hearty soups.
The meals are made of all natural ingredients and contain no chemicals or preservatives. Yet each has a shelf life of three years, and all can be stored in a cupboard or pantry. This makes them an ideal emergency food supply, but also handy for dormitories, camping and boating. Truck drivers can keep a hot meal on hand; so can office workers, school children, construction workers and anyone who wants a hot meal and doesn't have access to a kitchen or a restaurant.
The meals in a box are offered in cases of 12 units of a single type of meal. The minimum order is 60 pieces, and it can contain a dozen each of each dinner or any combination. The minimum wholesale order is $300, or $4.99 a unit. The suggested retail price is $6.99 to $7.99 a unit.
